Great Wolf Lodge Trip- Last full day

This was the day before we went home.  On each of the days we were there we made a point of doing something fun away from the Lodge.  We shopped the outlet stores in Centralia and saw some tourist attractions and went to the park.  The Lewis County Museum in Chehalis was worth posting about.  It turned out to be a hidden gem that we almost skipped over.

First of all it is housed in a very old train station which makes the building pretty neat before you even get to the displays inside.

Then there was this pretty amazing collection of miniatures.  If you really took time to look at them you felt like you were looking right into a Native community from the mid 1800s.

The children all liked the hands on area best.

"Excuse me sir, can you tell me when the next train
leaves for Stanwood? ... Sir?  .... Sir?"

Elayna is done at the Museum.  It is time to go home.

Everyone had a wonderful time but we were all happy to be home and our critters seemed glad too.  This kitty was as happy to be snuggling as Anna was, despite what appears to be a choke hold.

(no cats were harmed in the making of this blog post)

  1. How cool! We are studying Washington State history this year, and I really hope we can do some sight seeing...Looks like you have found a lot of really cool places to explore.

  2. It is funny how there are SO many things to see so close by, that most people are unaware of. I had never heard of so many of the places you visited until you posted about them. I wish we had been able to do more "sight seeing" while we were there. We are doing more sight seeing here as time permits. Thankfully there are LOTS of free places to visit that are really very nice and you are able to learn so much about the area too. I am so glad you all were able to do so much without going very far from home. Thank you once again for taking the time to share. (I love the photo of Anna and her kitten:)
