Grandad John's celebration of life was April 23rd. It was a day remembering him, meeting his friends and sharing a meal with the people who were important to him.
Here are the kids standing on the stairs/railing that Grandad helped build for the church.
During the service the church surprised my mom by dedicating the retreat center in his name. The last years of his life he put a lot of time and effort working to keep the retreat center open and available to church and youth groups.
Looks like a beautiful service! What a special prvilige to have the retreat center named after him!
ReplyDeleteWow, Kristen, that was an awesome thing for the church to do. It looked like a very nice service. Those stairs are beautiful. Your children look so grown up all dressed up like they were. (well, I guess they really are getting pretty grown up.) Thank you for sharing this special time with us.
