Has anyone else ever noticed that when you think you are going to do service for someone in the community that you are the one who comes away feeling blessed? A special day of blessings with our friends at the retirement home.
Only these two seemed to understand the rules of this game!
Lord thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share this time with each other and the residents. Thank you for reminding us that they have so much wisdom and history to share with us and never let us think we are too busy to take time to come and listen.
It looked those who were there had a great time fellowshipping. The children were doing a great job of interacting. It didn't look like too many residents were out though. Glad you all were blessed by being there. There was a song we used to sing that said we were blessed to be a blessing. I definitely believe that to be true. And I agree when we go try to bless others, we will almost always coming away receiving much more than we gave.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't too bad. There were 7-8 residents. There was a whole table I didn't get a picture of with another homeschool family. Each table had a couple residents and 3-4 children so the ratios were ok for games. At the end, the children sort of gathered around the apples to apples table because the residents had started to leave. I think it was the longest we had ever stayed. Turned out to be a good day to have the Camera along!
