Retirement Home Day 2013

We had been taking some time off from the retirement home but a couple of the children really missed going.  This was our first visit in 2013.  We made dog treats with the residents.

Clara enjoyed her friend very much.
They talked about her grandchildren and playing piano.

Kylie enjoyed visiting with these two men.  The one on the right was a missionary for 35 years, much of it in Africa.  He wrote a book called "Let me tell you a Story" it is his memoirs from so many years in the mission field.  He had a copy with him and we were able to look through it.  We are hoping to buy the book.  He lived a fascinating life and Kylie was blessed by her time with him.

Jacob stayed busy keeping to the recipe and making sure the project turned out.  Elayna was shy at first and just wanted to make the treats with Jacob.  But by the end she was going around talking to the residents.  Looking forward to our visit with them in August when we will meet them at Kayak Park.

  1. I am really glad you all went back for a visit. It is great seeing your children interacting so well with the residents. We too miss very much visiting the people from the retirement home. There were a lot of joy filled hours spent with residents. And that day of each month was very much anticipated. Were you the only family there or were there others? (I noticed a boy in one of the photos that was not Jacob.)

  2. Lanita, that "little" guy is Nathan! He is so grown up now and such a fun guy. Anna looks forward to seeing him to play whenever she gets a chance.
