Piglet Nursery Under Construction

The porch project is temporarily on hold.  Agatha's piglets are due the 9th of July.  The kids decided to make her a nice new place to have her piglets.  Hoping to have it done this week so we can get back to working on the porch and flowerbed.

Bandit decided to take a nap instead of helping.

Piano Night

Jacob and Clara had their piano recital Monday.  They had both worked so hard and they both did awesome!  It was a night of enjoying the music of all the talented piano students.  It was such a nice evening and made even more special by Grandma being able to enjoy it with us.

A Birthday and a Milestone

We celebrated a birthday at our house last week.  Stephanie is 17 now!  We kept it simple this year.  Went out to dinner at Outback Steakhouse with Grandma and had banana splits (Stephanie's choice) when we got home.  It doubled as fathers day this year just like the year she was born.  So it was pretty special.

Another thing that made it special, and sad, for me- this is the last year that I won't have any "adult children"  Of course everyone who knows Stephanie knows she has been an adult since she was about 7.  But in less than a year it will be official.

Pillars down!

The contractor is done with his part!  We are starting the landscaping of the front flower bed now.

Making Progress

Saturday was a working day. Cleaning the garage, moving all of the firewood off of the porch and re-stacking it and preparing the porch to tear down the old pillars. 

Kylie and Jacob got a rare trip to the movie theater for the late night showing.  It was their first time seeing a late night movie.

A New Semester

While mom is still wrapping up the school year with the younger kids, Stephanie has started a new semester.  She is getting so close to being done! 

And what is this!?  No Boot!  She is officially boot free and able to walk around.

Still a lot of pain around the plate and screws but we are heading in the right direction!

What is this disaster?

It is the front of our house!  Yes, it is a mess!  And we have been wanting to be rid of the colonial pillars since we bought the house.  Follow along while our latest project takes shape.  It should look like a whole new porch when it is done!
