We got an assortment of rare breed chickens this year and we sure are
enjoying finding out what we have as they get older
This pretty lady is a Blue Laced Wyondotte.
We got a few of these and are hoping one turns out to be a rooster so
we can hatch some more out next year.
How fun!! I love the color of her feathers. (I can't believe the cat is just laying there not trying to get the chicken:)
ReplyDeleteHow old is she?
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be able to tell if you have a rooster?
The cat is thinking … chicken & rice or chicken & noodles … decisions to make … oh it hurts to much to think … I’m going back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteJohn- That is exactly what she was thinking!
ReplyDeleteMichelle- With the wyondottes it will be awhile before I will be able to tell. With both the Wyondottes and the Orpingtons I sometimes can't tell until they get their combs or start to crow. They are almost 5 weeks old. We got at least 5 of this breed though and it was straight run so chances are good that we will some of each.
Let me know if you get 2 roosters. I'm ready for one to keep our 'girls in line'.
