Oregon Coast Day 2

The second day we planned to stick around Seaside.

  I won't over post pictures of the aquarium since I posted quite a few when we were here in September.

Feeding the seals is one of the kids favorite things to do here.

Oregon Coast End of Day 1

A second post about the end of this day because it was too much for one post.

After we checked into the hotel we asked them to recommend a pizza place.  They recommended Harbor Pizza.  You walk in and you are thinking it is kind of a pizza dive.  But it grows on you!  And they have the most delicious pizza we have had in a long time! 

They have long wooden tables and wooden benches.  Made you feel like you were in the galley of a pirate ship. They have these boats all around the room.

Jacob WAS the entertainment.  He got compliments!  One lady even came up before she left to tell him he had real talent and she hoped he would keep playing as he gets older.

Then when Driving back to the hotel we saw the Oscar Mayer mobile!  Neither of us had ever seen it in our whole lives so we had to take pictures!  Glad we did because it was gone when we drove back by the next morning.

Oregon Coast Day 1

After the conference we took off for a few days down the Oregon coast. 


Our first stop was L.L. "Stub" Stewart State park in Oregon.  It was a huge State park with multiple campgrounds, cabins, miles of hiking, biking and horse riding trails, a discovery center a playground and a day use picnic area.

The discovery center was small but packed with lots to explore.

This picture doesn't do this viewpoint justice.  It was a breathtaking view of a valley and we had the area almost to ourselves.

Christian Heritage Conference

April 27th and 28th we attended the annual Christian Heritage Conference.  We enjoyed encouraging speakers, an amazing vendor hall of resources for homeschoolers, fantastic fellowship with friends and a wonderful couple of days learning and growing together as a family.

We enjoyed staying at the Marriott and having a nice breakfast from the bistro each morning. 

Special time with friends

After two full days of listening to speakers and going to workshop sessions a couple of us just couldn't stay awake through the final Keynote speaker.

If you homeschool and have never been to this conference you need to go next year!   You will leave feeling renewed and refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of another year teaching and disciplining your children.

Do you know everyone who is teaching your children?  Do you know that they have a solid foundation in Christ Jesus?  Or are they huminists and evolutionists or ??

Poultry Palace

I have been saying I would get pictures of the poultry palace up.  I have not gotten a picture of the coop part yet but I decided to go ahead and post the pictures I have.

The kids worked so hard helping put this together. 

The Poultry Palace:

• Is 50x25 feet
• Has an 8x8 coop with a perch and heat lamp
• Has 4x4 treated posts buried 2 feet into the ground
• Has galvanized steel cattle panel around the entire outside
• Has 1 inch poultry netting covering the entire run and attached to the cattle panel every 2 inches
• Has 1 inch chicken wire covering every inch of the cattle panel all the way around
• Has 4x4 boards and landscaping boards around the entire base to prevent predators from burying under the cattle panel

It took hard work from almost everyone in the family.
